The past week was rather unremarkable and already the winter lethargy has set in.
As quickly as November was ushered in, it has been rushed out. Things seem to be moving faster now, and I find myself worrying again about time. Where did this year go? How is it possible we’re a month today from Christmas?
San Francisco is still a place that makes my heart do backflips. But there’s much more to San Francisco than a bunch of buildings on a peninsular surrounded by water. There’s a vibe, a magnetic field. I feel real there. I feel like me.
The American put the finishing touches on this new short film, ‘Ode to the Cold Chicago Winter’ a few days ago, and we released it into the world. It’s a perfect day to kick back, snuggle up and enjoy a leisurely look at the freezing steam coming from the buildings and homes across the city. It’s something I find beautiful. I had little idea how people lived in snowy climates before I came to Chicago. I was baffled and more than a little intimidated. But I’m still here. I’m surviving! Here’s a brief wrap up of how I’ve managed (so far) and the few little tips I’ve learned.
